Our story

World-class Cambridge preparation, built for every student.

Awaam Academy exists to close the gap between students sitting the same Cambridge exam in different countries. Same syllabus, same standard, same depth, regardless of where you live or what your family can afford.

The name

“Awaam” means the people.

In Urdu and Arabic, awaam means “the people” — not the elite, not the well-connected, not just those who can afford private tutoring. The name is the promise.

We started Awaam Academy because the gap between Cambridge International students in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, or Kenya and students with access to expensive private tutoring in London or Dubai is unfair, and entirely fixable. The exam is the same. The standard should be the same too.

What we believe

Three things, taken seriously.

Accessible to every student

A student in Karachi, Lagos, or Dhaka should learn from the same syllabus, on the same standard, as anyone at an expensive London tutor. Geography stops being a paywall here.

Taught from first principles

We teach the why behind every equation, not just the how. If you can derive it, you can apply it on any exam variant. Memorisation alone never scaled with the syllabus.

Free when it needs to be

Every O Level course is fully free, forever. A Level courses are kept affordable, with a scholarship for any student where cost is the only barrier.

The instructor

Built and taught by one person, for now.

Professor Amin Memon

Founder & Lead Instructor

Amin Memon is the founder and lead instructor of Awaam Academy. He is a senior in Computer Science at McNeese State University in Louisiana, USA, graduating May 2026, with a focus on backend systems, data modelling, and AI. The discipline he brings to engineering — building things that work in the real world, not just in a textbook — is the same discipline he brings to teaching maths and physics. Awaam Academy was founded on a simple conviction: a student in Karachi, Lagos, Dhaka, or anywhere else should have access to the same quality of Cambridge preparation as any student at an expensive private tutor in London.
